Mr Bull's Tree Planting Day

When Mr Bull retired as principal of Hamilton East School he gifted the school native trees to plant on our Nature Trail.
Anna had a group of expert tree planters to help teach other children how to plant the trees.
Mr Bull gave us kahikatea, makomako, mahoe and kowhai trees to plant.
Birds love these trees.
When you had taken the tree out of the pot you had to tease out the roots so it was ready to plant.

Kitchen Garden

One lunchtime a week Anna takes a group of Kitchen Gardeners into the Kitchen Garden.
Here are some of the things we did in Term One.
A praying mantis.

Harvesting Rocket seed.
Catching butterflies.
Harvesting potatoes.
Eating delicious feijoas.

Harvest Festival

In March we had a Harvest Festival to celebrate our Kitchen Garden and all the wonderful food we had grown. Every class made some food to share with everyone.
