Throughout the year a dedicated team of volunteers have been working tirelessly on our school nature trail ~ Te Ara o Ngahere.
What an amazing project and an amazing group of people giving their time and energy each week to improve the site for our school community. Thank you x 1000 !!!!!!
Our Enviro Agents have been involved too! When they could be involved they have weeded, dug in new plants, placed punga logs, trapped pests and more!
Today the Enviro Agents spent the afternoon getting stuck into our school Kitchen Garden.
We worked hard for a good, solid 10 minutes !! then enthusiasm seemed to divert to finding worms, snails, slugs, and any other bug that was lifted from its home.
We had lots of fun and were rewarded with a more weed free garden. It was a great taste of getting hands dirty for lots of the new Enviro Agents.
This week some Enviro Agents made posters to promote awareness about the importance of looking after water.
As a group we discussed why water is a precious resource and watched World Water Day videos about conserving water.
The Agents had to design a poster to give people tips on conserving water. We put some of the posters up around the school for a week.

Term 1 has seen the setting up of our school Enviro agents group.
This group is responsible for leading students towards more sustainable approaches and role modelling how to care for our school environment.
We had children who were interested to send in their applications of interest and why they would like to be an Agent.
We had 40 children apply for the group !!!!! After reading and considering all the applications I chose 30 representatives.
Well done everyone for your awesome applications - so hard to choose.
